Our Itinerary: Saronic Islands
The Argo-Saronic islands are a treasure trove of ancient myths, natural beauty, and tranquil seas, providing the perfect setting for a retreat.
Named after the mythological ship Argo that Jason and the Argonauts sailed in pursuit of the Golden Fleece, these islands embody a timeless blend of legend and serene landscapes. Each destination offers a unique story and setting, from vibrant villages to secluded coves, inviting us to explore, connect, and immerse in the present moment.
Sunday: Athens to Agistri
Our journey begins with a sail from Athens to Agistri, a lush green island renowned for its pine forests, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful atmosphere. Known for its quiet bays and scenic coves, Agistri provides the perfect space for grounding ourselves in the retreat’s spirit. Feel the serenity of this small island’s beaches as you settle into the experience and tune into your inner awareness.
Monday: Agistri to Hydra
Sailing onward, we arrive in Hydra, an island rich in culture and history. Hydra, famous for its well-preserved 18th-century architecture and absence of motor vehicles, offers a true step back in time. Known for its lively yet unspoiled harbor, Hydra’s beauty inspired Leonard Cohen, and today, it serves as an artist haven. Legend has it that Hydra’s waters were blessed by Poseidon, making it a source of revitalization—a place to fully connect with nature, the sea, and each other.
Tuesday: Hydra to Spetses
From Hydra, we sail to Spetses, an island steeped in maritime heritage. Known for its elegant mansions and vibrant old port, Spetses played a key role in Greece’s 1821 War of Independence. The island still celebrates this legacy with traditional boat regattas. Its hidden beaches and inviting waters offer a peaceful escape, allowing us to relax into the rhythm of the island. From exploring the fragrant pine forests to enjoying the sandy shores, Spetses invites us to savor each moment in its quiet embrace.
Wednesday: Spetses to Ermioni
Continuing to Ermioni, a charming seaside village nestled between olive groves and ancient ruins, we find ourselves on an island that feels untouched by time. The tranquil atmosphere of Ermioni makes it ideal for deepening our connection with the natural world, while its clear waters invite us to dive in. Known for its vibrant local culture, Ermioni is a place to pause, be still, and take in the beauty of Greece’s quiet coastline.
Thursday: Ermioni to Poros
Our next stop is Poros, an island of lush forests and sandy beaches, separated from the mainland by a narrow sea channel that creates stunning views. According to legend, Poros is the birthplace of Poseidon’s son, Theseus, and was considered sacred to the sea god. Its vibrant town center with iconic clock tower and historic monastery offers a blend of culture and tranquility. Here, we can unwind, reflect on our journey, and enjoy the simple pleasures of Greek island life.
Friday: Poros to Athens
Our final sail takes us back to Athens, allowing for reflection on the week’s experiences. As we return to the lively city, the connections we’ve formed—with ourselves, nature, and each other—will remain with us.
The Argo-Saronic islands provide a natural setting steeped in myth and beauty, making each stop a place to nourish the body, awaken the senses, and reconnect with the timeless spirit of exploration.
The itinerary is illustrative. We are bound to nature and we will flow with it.
In case the sea and winds decide that we should follow a slighlty different path, we will respect this invitation and in this new route we will remain true to the intention of our retreat and to the safety and tranquillity of the crew.
On a beach or surrounded by turquoise blue sea, we start the day with Vinyasa flow that energises us from head to toes, and creates space in the body and heart.
We enjoy our breakfast while we sail to the next adventure, and enjoy a morning reading, tanning, relaxing, or learning sailing with our skippers.
After arriving, we drop the anchor and jump into the water for a refreshing swim. Snorkelling and stand-up paddling equipments are also available if you want to experience the water in a different way.
Colourful lunch will be ready for us as a delicious recharge. And in the afternoon, we go for a hike and visit the wonders of the island. Or maybe not. Read a book or watch the clouds or take a nap. After all, is your retreat.
We regroup in the evening for dinner, and afterwards, an evening yoga section to relax, breathe and meditate. There will also be a few special evenings where we find peace and connection from other community activities.
